Champion for the Innocent
Details & Restrictions
Every month, Wrongful Conviction News™ selects one supporter to become a Champion for the Innocent—someone who helps shine a public spotlight on a case that deserves attention.
As a Champion, you'll receive a Post-Ready Promo Kit™ designed to help you amplify a case online in a professional, credible, and impactful way. If you can post, you're good to go.
How the Champion Program Works
1. Make a donation
You can make a one-time donation or set up a recurring monthly commitment.
One-time donations: minimum $5 per gift.
Recurring monthly donations: minimum $25 per month.
2. Your support makes you eligible for recognition
Each qualifying donation makes you eligible to be selected as a Champion for the Innocent.
Recurring monthly supporters demonstrate sustained commitment to our mission and may be prioritized in selection.
WCN retains full discretion in determining monthly Champions.
- The Champion chooses the case
If selected, you'll choose the case you'd like to help bring attention to using your Post-Ready Promo Kit™.

Important Disclaimers & Responsible Advocacy
Wrongful Conviction News™ is committed to responsible advocacy and reporting.
- WCN retains full editorial control over all content and promotion.
- Selection as a Champion does not guarantee advocacy, endorsement, or investigative coverage by WCN.
- We do not claim innocence without review. Some cases require extensive investigation that takes significant time—sometimes years—before a determination can responsibly be made.
- Due to staff capacity, not all cases can be reviewed or promoted.
The Champion Program allows supporters to stand publicly with the innocent while preserving WCN's independence, discretion, and editorial standards. Although you are free to use your Post-Ready Promo Kit as you wish, WCN retains all rights to the materials and sole discretion over which cases it promotes.
